At DOG'S LOVE, we not only care about the well-being of our pets, but also about sustainability. Throughout the entire production process, we pay meticulous attention to making it as environmentally friendly as possible. However, it's not just the contents that count, but also the packaging as part of the whole! So it's important to us that the packaging material also corresponds to our sustainable philosophy. Recycling, i.e. the reprocessing and reuse of materials in a cycle, is one of the cornerstones of sustainable living – and sustainable consumption. It significantly reduces waste, substantially lowers CO2  emissions and, as a result, slows down climate change. At DOG'S LOVE, we use only recyclable packaging materials wherever possible. It is imperative that these preserve the high quality of the contents and protect our food from external influences. Follow our guide to dispose of your empty DOG'S LOVE packaging in the most environmentally-friendly way possible! We, your animal companions and our environment will be delighted if you also recycle our product packaging properly.

ALWAYS RECYCLABLE
OUR TINS

For our DOG'S LOVE tins, we use tinplate – one of the most recyclable materials available. The entire can consists of 95.31% tinplate, and this  95% tinplate can be recycled an infinite number of times. So disposing of them in the separate tin and can waste containers – depending on the region – is definitely worthwhile! What's more, our cans contain 60% recycled material, allowing them to be used again.

100 % PURE PAPER
TIN LABELS

The labels on our tins are made of 100% pure paper. Paper, as we know, is an infinitely valuable material, and you can recycle 100% of the labels. Remove the labels from the can before disposing of it and throw it away with paper waste. This is your contribution to sustainable recycling! By recycling, we avoid having to produce virgin fibres for new paper. Let's conserve resources together and reduce CO2  emissions in the long term.

ALREADY 80 % RECYCLED
THE CARDBOARD TRAYS

If your furry friend just can't get enough of our food, then you may have already bought a whole tray. In the packaging industry, an entire tray is referred to as a crate, which is loaded with products and wrapped in film. Our trays are made from an FSC mix (GDII paper, corrugated cardboard and testliner). This means that they already consist of up to 80% recycled material. In addition, at least 70% of the trays can be recycled, and in many cases 100% can be.

50 % REZYKLAT
PROTECTIVE STRETCH FILM

Stretch film is used to ensure that our tins are well secured in their trays. This also enables us to reduce damage to the cans during transport. The stretch film we use (LDPE/ Green PE) is 100% recyclable. It is also made from up to 50% recycled material, i.e. plastic that has already been recycled. This helps us and the environment to save raw materials, reduce CO₂ emissions and avoid waste. In order to reduce plastic even more, some DOG'S LOVE products are packed in complete trays so that no stretch film has to be used.

MADE FROM RENEWABLE RAW MATERIALS
DRY FOOD BAGS

We currently use a film composite (PET/PE) in combination with paper for the best possible packaging of our high-quality premium dry food. We are delighted that we are able to use 35% renewable raw materials for our 2 kg bags and 25% for our 12 kg bags. This packaging is also used for all types of food and ensures that the valuable contents have a long shelf life and are protected from external influences. The outer layer is extremely robust, while the inner coating ensures maximum freshness of the food. Unfortunately, this type of packaging is not yet recyclable, but we are constantly working on improving it.  For the sake of the environment, people and animals!

CO₂-POOR TRANSPORT
TREAT BAG/
SNACK BAG

Our stand -up pouches, also known in the packaging industry as ‘doybags’, are made of PET/PE composite material (plastic). This preserves the flavours of our delicious treats for your pet, extends the shelf life of the contents and ensures that we don't have to rely on artificial preservatives. The low packaging weight also ensures that transport saves a significant amount of CO2.The transparent window lets you have a good look at the contents, so there is guaranteed to be no cheating or surprise packaging. What you see is what you get:namely, particularly high quality. Thanks to the perforation on the top, the bags  are easy for shops to hang up, so there is no need for outer packaging or additional cardboard packaging. In addition, the freshness or pressure seal ensures that our products are always consumed and stored at top quality. This packaging is not yet recyclable, but we are working closely with packaging producers to switch to an environmentally-friendly alternative as soon as possible.

THE CO₂-SAVING SUPERSTAR
ALUMINIUM TUBES

Our organic patés are packaged in aluminium tubes with plastic caps. Aluminium is the real star among recyclable materials, because as a metal it can be recycled an infinite number of times. It also optimally protects the contents from external influences and ensures that we can confidently dispense with unnecessary preservatives. Incidentally, aluminium is also particularly light and thus significantly reduces the carbon  footprint during transport. If you properly dispose of the packaging as scrap metal, you help to prevent over 90% of the energy that would have to be used for new production. Recycling simply works! The plastic cap can also be recycled and should end up in the appropriate recycling route, according to the region.

SELF-COMPOSTABLE
ROUND CARTONAGES

The packaging of our herbal blends is made of food-grade cardboard. The virgin fibres for this come from sustainable forestry in Northern Europe. The colour printing is also water-based and therefore completely plastic-free. The round cardboard boxes are 100% recyclable or even compostable, if desired. So put it in the waste paper bin or in your own compost.

PLEASE SEPARATE:
CARTONDOSES

Our DOG’S DOC Vital powders are packed in sturdy cardboard cans. The body of the can consists of 71.05% recycled material and over 96% paper. It can therefore be easily disposed of with waste paper. The lid and base of the cans are made of a plastic that is also easy to recycle. However, the lid and base should of course be placed separately from the body of the can in the appropriate bins. The same applies to the aluminium membrane that we use to give our powder an airtight seal. The proportion of already recycled material in the entire can is 44%, i.e. almost half. If you disassemble the can into its components, the cardboard can is easy to recycle!
